Arana: Industry-First Analog/RF Circuit Analysis, Visualization and Behavioral Modeling Tool
Overview
Arana is an industry-first tool for the automated analysis, behavioral modeling, visualization, design exploration and debugging of analog and RF mixed-signal circuits. Starting with a Cadence schematic or HSPICE/Spectre netlist, Arana automatically derives the analytic equations of circuit characteristics in terms of design, layout and process parameters. With these analytic equations as the base, Arana can perform rapid what-if analysis and visualization of how parameters change the design characteristics, and how design parameters can be changed to meet the design specifications.
Arana has been used by designers for the analysis and modeling, and debugging of various circuits including opamps, filters, switched capacitors, phase lock-loops, decoupling capacitor circuits, RF front ends, LCD driver circuits, and A/D converters.
Key Benefits
- Automate the design analysis process (no need to tweak SPICE, MATLAB, paper-and-pencils) and enable design reuse
- Silicon-accurate behavioral modeling enabling mixed-signal full-chip verification, eliminate and reduce the risk of silicon re-spins
- Significantly reduce the analog/RF circuit design/silicon debug time
- Help designers gain more design insight
- Achieve more innovative design
- Ease the design documentation effort
Key Features
- Technology independent (can handle bulk and SOI CMOS, BiCMOS, SiGe BiCMOS, precision bipolar, GaAs, PHEMY, HBT,...)
- Topology independent (can handle your own circuit topology)
- Automatic generation of circuit design characteristic equations from Cadence schematics or HSPICE/Spectre netlists
- Automatic correlation of device design models with silicon-accurate simulation models
- Automatic back annotation of device design models to Cadence circuit schematics
