Two World Top-Five Chip Companies Selected Orora Tools for Sub-90nm Custom Circuit Design

Redmond, WA, January 15, 2007 — Orora Design Technologies, Inc., an emerging leader in custom circuit design software, announced two major customer evaluation successes today. In 2006, one of the world's top five semiconductor companies and one top-five analog semiconductor company evaluated Orora’s tools for custom circuit design and selected Orora as the winner. Both companies plan to use Orora tools for 65nm design in 2007.

In both evaluations, Orora tools were selected for best engine technologies, easy-to-use user flow, tool reconfigurability, and customer support.

(Best Engine Technologies) Orora tools are capable of finding robust optimized designs that meet the specifications across process-voltage-temperature (PVT) variations, with scalable modeling and verification capacities, all in less CPU time.
(Easy-to-Use User Flow) Orora tools support designers to design, characterize, model, and re-target custom transistor circuits seamlessly from their existing design environments in an automated flow independent of vendor, simulator, and technology.
(Custom Design Innovation). Orora tools are developed with open archietectures that enable custom design innovation. Designers can easily capture their expertise and create innovative designs and diffentiating design processes.
(Rapid Response to Designers' New Request) This has been considered essential when designers move their custom designs to 90nm and 65nm. “Orora has responded to our requests even more effectively than our internal CAD team," said a customer.

In 2006, Orora was engaged in a number of 90nm custom circuit tapes-out. The company sees that more custom circuit designs in 2007 will be at 90nm and 65nm nodes. Custom innovations are key to address design challenges due to small-device geometry, low supply voltage, increasing process-voltage-temperature (PVT) variation, and increasing noise and leakage. Orora's Arsyn, Arana and Arche are industry firsts to automate the design, modeling, verification and migration processes of custom transistor circuits. These tools promise a 2-10x productivity improvement. They are becoming essential for sub-90nm nodes, where robust optimized solutions across all PVT variations are hard to find by a manual approach.
