Dr. Jennifer Bernstein grew up in the west suburbs of Chicago, where she was a competitive figure skater with the International Skating Corporation and a member of the DuPage Figure Skating Club. Over time, she suffered injuries that led her to pursue other goals.  Dr. Bernstein attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and determined that podiatry could be a great way to connect to the figure skating world through the treatment of injured athletes. After graduating from UIC in 2009, Dr. Bernstein was attended the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, and graduated in 2013. She then spent three years completing her podiatric medicine and surgery residency at the University of Louisville and Jewish hospitals. Here she also received exceptional training in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery.  Happy to be back in the Chicago area, Dr. Bernstein enjoys treating all aspects of foot and ankle pathology in patients of all ages.  In her free time, she is fond of watching the Food Network, cooking, and trying new restaurants.
